Courses for children and teenagers

There are 3 age categories : The Kids Workshops (5-6 years), Junior Workshops (7-9 years) and the Preteens Workshop (10-12 years).

The youngest will discover the English language and learn to use and pronounce words, the 7-9 year olds will work on how to create sentences and ask questions while the pre-teens will start to be autonomous and express themselves spontaneously. The workshops take place in Estavayer and Fribourg.

Kids workshop

Progressive and interactive teaching approach through language discovery, motivating topics and adapted fun activities. Your child will become aware of the language (pronunciation, vocabulary and use). Your child will learn how to understand and speak basic vocabulary and simple grammar.

Objectives

Introduce the learning of a language by an inductive and amusing approach
Encourage the curiosity and spontaneity of children
Encourage a group experience through collaboration
Encourage the reproduction of the language through song
Consolidate knowledge through appropriate exercises

Methodology

The workshop is built around a systematic and dynamic method. Each unit has a mini- lexicon of keywords, a fun story with key sentences, manual activities, catchy songs and games. The program is suitable for children who do not write, or who have just started learning to do so.

Juniors Workshop

Progressive and interactive teaching approach through language basics, motivating topics and adapted activities.The workshop mainly consists of systematic oral use and basic language introduction through miscellaneous practice tasks, games, role-plays and outdoor activities.

Methodology

The workshop is built around a systematic and dynamic method. Each unit includes a glossary of keywords, a fun story with key phrases, grammar exercises, activities for consolidation and games.

Preteens workshop

Depending on the group or the course format, the workshop may include projects, role-plays, debates, challenges but also interactive games, outdoor activities and any oral task that should stimulate active language use and result in positive experience.
